So Far No Frost

September 12, 2007 by collsgarden

The weather this week has been unseasonably cool. The days have been dreary and grey. The low temps have been close to 0.. but so far we have not had any frost. Yesterday I pulled all my red tomatoes but left the green ones on the vine. Hopefully Jack Frost will stay away at least for another few weeks.

Lots of red peppers this year. Must keep an ear to the weather forecast. A frost would have them turn to mush.

I did the seed thing this year and am very pleased with my crop of little green onions.

Your veggies look great! I’ve never tried to let my peppers turn red. I read your blog, and your ‘about’ page - and can’t figure out where you are that it’s about to turn zero degrees at night! Oh my. I’m just not ready to stop playing outside, but it’ll be awhile here yet.

Coll replies: Hi Jackie, so wonderful to meet you. I am in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. So far we have eluded any frost but it came awfully close last night.
